Job Summary
Family Advocate provides program case management for children and families, delivering health and social services aligned with Head Start Performance Standards. Responsibilities include enrollment procedures, home visits, assessing family needs, conducting child health screenings, administering medication per protocols, connecting families to community resources, coordinating with staff to support attendance, planning parent involvement activities, maintaining accurate records, and advocating for Head Start services. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED and a credential/degree in social work or related field (or relevant work experience) with completion of the OCDC Family Advocate Certificate Level 1 within 12 months. The role operates in Woodburn, Oregon, on a full-time schedule with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- A credential, certificate or degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field OR 1 year of work experience in health and/or social services OR 2 years of work experience in an environment working with children and/or families AND completion of OCDC’s Family Advocate Certificate Level 1 within 12 months of hire
