Job Summary
Provide mobile social work services to First Hug families through home visits, developing case plans and coordinating all First Hug services. Maintain weekly contact to track progress, generate client outcomes reports in Unity and Excel for funders, and keep confidential records current. Coordinate with Metropolitan Ministries staff and community service providers to ensure optimal service utilization for families in crisis. Support holiday tent operations and contribute to team targets as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the human services field
- Two years of work experience
- Knowledgeable about homeless issues
- Experience working with individuals with mental health/substance abuse issues
- Willingness to seek continuing education related to the homeless population
- Opportunities for certification or licensure
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Dependability
- Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in clients served
- Ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner
- Willingness to work with minimal supervision

- Ability to offer services where homeless families are staying (car, tent, motels, and housing not fit for habitation)
- Ability to deescalate clients on the edge of verbal or physical violence
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to conduct and participate in meetings
- Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication
- Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress
- Must pass applicable pre-employment screening
- Demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States
