Job Summary
Coordinate Family Services and Parent Involvement activities for enrolled children and families, recruiting, screening, and enrolling eligible children while maintaining accurate caseload documentation and attendance records. Conduct home visits, telephone contacts, and arrange transportation for families attending training or meetings, ensuring at least 85% classroom enrollment and timely completion of health screenings and medical services. Submit weekly and monthly reports on home visits, referrals, and family contacts to the Community/Family Partnerships Specialist, meeting regularly with the Family Services Specialist to review caseload status. Work rotating shifts from 3:30 PM until bus clearance in Hampton, Denbigh, and Downtown Newport News, accepting other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelors' Degree in Social work, Counseling, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology and or related field
- Must possess training and experience in fields related to social human or family services, psychology and dealing with a diverse population
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills
- Must have valid Virginia Driver's License
- Must have reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive work experience in crisis intervention will be helpful
