Job Summary
Conduct outreach, recruitment, and enrollment for Head Start/Early Head Start families while meeting performance standards and funding terms. Build trusting relationships with parents and caregivers by leading goal-setting, coaching, and home visits to assess strengths, resources, and health needs. Develop individualized family plans in partnership with families, facilitate problem-solving, and advocate for services while ensuring all health screenings and data tracking requirements are met. Serve as a liaison between Community School partners and families, participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, and refer families to appropriate community resources. Maintain accurate record-keeping, perform internal and external reporting, and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS in family development, psychology, sociology or related field
- One year of related experience in a non-profit and/or human services setting
- A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practices with children and families
- Experience working with low-income communities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and mediate to attain win-win situations
- T.B. and other required health clearances at the time of employment
- Fingerprint clearance by the DOJ and CCL agencies
- Valid California Drivers' License and use of a personal automobile including evidence of auto liability insurance coverage
- Ability to demonstrate sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to carry out essential job duties and supervise program activities
- Visual acuity to effectively observe and monitor program activities
- Mobility to respond promptly to emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs
