Job Summary
Support assigned units by providing classroom assistance, managing participant behavior, and supervising arrival, snacks, and dismissal. Design and implement theme-based educational and recreational activities, including lesson plans that promote monthly themes, while tracking attendance and behavior through accurate record keeping. Act as a liaison between group leaders and program management, maintaining positive relationships with host schools, parents, and staff. Maintain program supply inventories and adhere to Department of Health guidelines and University Settlement policies. Work Monday through Friday from 1:00pm to 5:45pm for 25 hours per week in a partial-year part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in child development, Elementary Ed. or related field or H.S. Diploma & two years direct experience working with children under 13 years of age
- Experience working with parent groups i.e. volunteer groups, PTAs, AmeriCorps team etc
- Familiarity working with youth in a variety of settings
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to support Site Supervisor in maintaining the integrity of the program and established relationships with partners
- Work Schedule: Partial Year Part Time, Monday - Friday, 1:00pm - 5:45pm, 25 hours per week
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (English& Spanish/Cantonese/Mandarin) preferred
