Job Summary
Shadow paralegals and work independently with mentor guidance while interviewing work groups to understand large firm operations. Perform document coding and tagging in Relativity, utilize electronic document management systems, and prepare deposition kits and trial exhibits under supervision. Summarize testimony and case records, itemize damages, and assist with discovery responses. Observe hearings, trials, oral arguments, or video-taped depositions. Work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, for a minimum of 20 hours per week over an average six-week term.
Required Qualifications
- Students pursuing a paralegal certificate program requiring a practical internship
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (working at a computer)
- Must be able to move/traverse about inside the office intermittently throughout the day
- Operate computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, telephone, etc.
- Repetitive movement (i.e. heavy computer/keyboard use)
- Individual will interact regularly with others verbally, in-person, and via written communication
- Ability to handle 50 lb. boxes of documents, pieces of evidence and physically arrange and organize case rooms
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Work schedule must be during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Intern is required to work all hours onsite at our Minneapolis office
