Job Summary
Conduct daily greenhouse operations including seeding, planting, cultivating seedlings, and maintaining irrigation systems. Manage plant care by pruning, transplanting, and applying fertilizers or pesticides as needed. Handle logistics by loading/unloading trucks, organizing docks, and moving product on conveyor belts using rolling carts. Maintain greenhouse cleanliness and repair equipment or structures while adhering to safety protocols and supervisor instructions. Work full-time shifts averaging 30-35 hours per week with Saturday and Sunday availability required. This seasonal role supports the delivery of young plants, flowers, and vegetables to customers at our Brighton facility.
Required Qualifications
- Must have worked at least 3 seasons with the company within the last 5 years
- Must be 18 years or older and be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently push/pull racks on wheels of up to 100lbs, and occasionally move benches or product of up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand/walk for intervals of 3-4 hours throughout a 5-10+hour shift
- Must be able to sit, reach overhead, bend/climb, maintain balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must have specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
- Must have a basic level of literacy in English or Spanish, including speaking, reading, and writing
- Must be able to work as a part of a team and communicate in a timely and respectful manner when speaking to clients, other greenhouse teams, managers, and coworkers
- All candidates must have Saturday & Sunday availability
