Job Summary
Coordinate alignment between after-school and school-day staff to ensure curriculum consistency. Collaborate with the Program Director to develop, select, and implement age-appropriate, standards-based curricula including thematic and project-based learning. Design and facilitate high-quality staff training sessions, lead professional development for Group Leaders and Activity Specialists, and provide ongoing instructional support through observations, feedback, and coaching. Partner with school administration to evaluate program effectiveness and promote student growth in literacy, numeracy, and STEM. Plan and deliver required annual training hours for DYCD compliance, including evening, weekend, and holiday sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory, leadership, or oversight role
- Staff supervision, training, and coaching
- Program or curriculum development
- Experience in an administrative or leadership role within an after-school or community-based program
- Strong knowledge of NYC Department of Education Learning Standards
- familiarity with the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning, development, and implementation
- Experience facilitating professional development and training sessions
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic program environment
- Strong coaching and mentorship skills with the ability to support diverse staff
- Creative thinker with the ability to design engaging, high-quality educational programming
