Job Summary
Teach up to nine semester credit hours in Sociology within the Department of Social Sciences, dictated by student demand. Conduct face-to-face interactions through a regular on-campus attendance schedule and hold office hours to assist students as needed. This temporary appointment is for the Fall 2026 semester and/or applicable sub-terms, requiring a Master's degree in Sociology with 18 graduate hours or a closely related Doctorate. Applications must include a Curriculum Vitae, Letter of Interest, three professional references, and unofficial transcripts, with the initial review beginning August 5, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in the discipline, or a closely related area with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Sociology
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the general public
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work under stress and with pressing timelines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution's verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution's procedures, including the completion of the criminal history check
Desired Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in the discipline (or closely related field) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours
- Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Prior relevant industry experience
