Job Summary
Prepare lab session materials and assist students during lab sessions at St. Olaf College. Clean and organize the lab, correct lab manuals and classroom work, and safely dispose of lab waste using an autoclave. Make lab solutions and reagents while operating a diverse array of lab equipment with minimal supervision. Maintain knowledge of lab safety procedures and handle physical tasks including lifting up to 20 lbs. and repetitive motions. This role supports Biology Department Faculty in teaching and research activities.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the lab student is assisting
- Dependable and punctual
- Experience with lab solution/reagent making
- Experience with a diverse array of lab equipment
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures
- Ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation
