Job Summary
Conduct intakes to assess client eligibility for estate planning services. Execute Transfer on Death Deeds, Heir at Law Deeds, and Powers of Attorney while assisting with pro se probate petitions. Draft Know Your Rights materials and deliver presentations at community events. Perform legal research and support the Foreclosure Prevention Project's efforts to combat deed theft and scams. This internship supports NYLAG's mission to protect homeownership and generational wealth for low-income New Yorkers.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current undergraduate student
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
- Strong commitment to public interest law
- Superior communication (oral, written, and presentation) skills
- Professional presence and demeanor
