Job Summary
Conduct intakes to assess client eligibility for estate planning services and combatting deed theft. Execute basic wills, Transfer on Death Deeds, Heir at Law Deeds, property transfers, and Powers of Attorney. Assist with pro se probate and administration petitions while analyzing homeowners' circumstances to advise on courses of action. Perform in-depth legal research on estate planning and tabling at community events to deliver Know Your Rights presentations. Draft informational materials and provide presentations to support the Foreclosure Prevention Project's mission of protecting generational wealth for New Yorkers.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current law student
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
- Strong commitment to public interest law
- Superior communication (oral, written, and presentation) skills
- Professional presence and demeanor
