Job Summary
Fall 2026 Optical Modem Hardware Intern role stationed in Ottawa, Canada. You will join a team of hardware designers focusing on the design, implementation, and verification of electro-optical circuit boards for cutting-edge networking and optical platforms. Under guidance, you will test and verify complex electro-optical circuit packs using a lab capable of electrical and optical measurements from DC to hundreds of GHz. You will review and test High-Speed, Digital, Analog control, and DC-DC Power Circuits, contribute to test plan documentation and reports, and participate in cross-functional meetings with Signal Integrity, Mechanical, Thermal, Component, Optical, and Test teams. You will design test jig circuits using the Cadence Allegro ECAD Tool Suite. Must be on-site 5 days a week in lab and office; enthusiastic self-starter with curiosity across electronics, optics, and mechanical disciplines. Assets include hands-on test and measurement experience, automation scripts, and knowledge of high-speed design, Op-Amp and Power circuits, precision analog design, and noise/stability budgets. Pay range is $25.00–$34.00 per hour (annualized as $52,000–$70,720). Equal opportunity employer; accommodation available upon request.
