Job Summary
Coordinate monthly meetings for the National Commission on Learning Ecosystems, including giving notice, organizing materials, and hosting virtual sessions for educators nationwide. Develop content for the LinkedIn community and organize data tools related to place-based learning ecosystems. Support public events by preparing panelists and greeting guests. Dedicate 10 to 15 hours per week, with a start date of the second week of September and availability through December 18, 2026. The hourly rate is $18 to $20. This role is part of the birth–12th grade team at New America's Education & Work programs, led by a senior director focused on mentorship and team integration.
Required Qualifications
- Interest or relevant experience in domestic policy and in education broadly speaking (including nonprofits, schools, museums, and libraries)
- Interest or relevant experience in communications or organizational governance
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Experience or interest in managing and monitoring LinkedIn accounts
- Ability to take initiative and to collaborate and communicate effectively in a hybrid team
- Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with collaborative platforms for scheduling, document sharing, and task management
- Originality and Transparency: All application materials, including cover letters, writing samples, and any other submissions, must be solely your own original work
