Job Summary
Fall 2026 Federal Fiscal Policy Intern at CBPP supports monitoring and analysis of federal budget and tax policy topics, assisting with research on policy developments, and data collection/analysis. The role requires strong quantitative and writing skills, experience with data analysis and Excel, and a demonstrated commitment to equity; candidates should be pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in economics, math, public policy, computing, or social sciences. Remote internship available to U.S.-based students; a Washington, DC metro hybrid option exists with in-person days at the DC office. The internship offers part-time to full-time hours (35-40 hours/week preferred, with a minimum of 30 hours/week) through the fall term, with compensation based on degree level (undergraduate $18/hour, bachelor’s $19/hour, graduate $20/hour, master’s or law $21/hour, doctoral $20-$22/hour). Required Qualifications
- Interest in federal fiscal and low-income policy issues
- Commitment to advancing equity
- Strong quantitative and writing skills and some prior research/data analysis experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Current undergraduate juniors and seniors (including rising juniors and seniors) or recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree, with coursework in economics, math, public policy, computing, or social sciences
