Job Summary
Organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure time activities for youth within campus-based therapeutic recreation programs. Collaborate with program staff to deliver individualized and group services while integrating into a diverse, mission-driven team focused on children's behavioral health and family support. Maintain professional attire and attend mandatory orientation and training sessions. Complete a minimum 100-hour commitment and satisfactorily meet goals outlined by university affiliates and the assigned site supervisor. This unpaid, academic-credit internship requires current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Current students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Must be enrolled, and in good academic standing, with an accredited academic institution at time of internship
- Established contract with academic institution
- Minimum 100-hour commitment unless stated otherwise in contract
- Students must satisfactorily complete goals as outlined by university affiliates and their assigned site supervisor
- Students must satisfactorily complete goals as outlined by college affiliates and their assigned site supervisor
- Must possess excellent oral and written presentation skills
- Must possess maturity
- Must possess self-motivation
- Must be comfortable working with families with diverse needs
- Must be able to integrate into our vibrantly inclusive and passionate team
- Must attend a mandatory orientation and training session at the beginning of their internship
- Must wear Business Professional or Clinical Attire
