Job Summary
Shift Supervisor at a Fairfax County emergency shelter for families with minor children. Leads Residential Coordinators on shift, provides direct supervision, supports crisis intervention, ensures policy compliance, conducts end-of-shift handoffs and reports, supports staff development, maintains a safe operation, handles emergencies and documentation, collaborates with case management, ensures intake and basic-need processes, coordinates donations and volunteer support, and uses Google Suite and Microsoft Office to document and report.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in human services field (e.g., mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and domestic violence)
- Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team members
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed
