Job Summary
Conduct failure analysis through functional testing and root cause investigation to identify product defects. Manage non-conformance reporting and support structured problem solving with quality engineers to prevent quality issues from recurring. Maintain a 5S laboratory environment and provide detailed failure analysis and re-work data to support the RMA process. Collaborate with internal and external customers while assisting the quality manager with additional lab duties. Requires a diploma in mechanical engineering technology and 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or in a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
- Working knowledge of mechanical & electro-mechanical components and systems
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly and competent with hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drill etc.)
- Analyzing CAD drawings and product functional & regulatory requirements
- Ability to work individually, and as part of a cross-functional team
- Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
- Willingness to travel up 10% of the time
- Successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo background checks including criminal records check and education
Desired Qualifications
- B.Sc. in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Experience in a quality-related function (Failure Analysis, Structured Problem Solving)
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes including CNC machining, injection molding, extruding, welding, additive manufacturing, surface treatment, etc.
- ASQ-certified CQT, or CQE
