Failure Analysis Engineer

Job Summary
Failure Analysis Engineer to investigate product/component failures, identify root causes, replicate reported failures on returned defective products, analyze data to identify trends, and communicate findings to engineering and manufacturing teams. Responsibilities include overseeing FA/test activities with contract manufacturers, debugging repairs based on FA procedures, collaborating with Product/Hardware/Software/Diagnostics teams, approving FA results, updating RMAs in ticket systems, driving learnings into Manufacturing and Quality, publishing external FA reports, setting up new products into FA and repair operations, coordinating with Service Planning to implement ECOs, improving FA capabilities across cross-functional teams, managing backlog, and influencing supplier and partner performance. Required skills include cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, strong communication/presentation, and knowledge of FA, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in high-tech manufacturing (preferably networking equipment)
- Experience working with contract manufacturing partners
- Experience in PCBA manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and associated processes
- Broad knowledge of test, diagnostics, failure analysis, and debug techniques
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience in Failure Analysis, Service, and Repair Operations is a plus
- Ability to analyze data through high level visual summaries, trends and patterns
- Self-starter who can handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Ability to influence and motivate internal and external partners
