Failure Analysis Engineer

Job Summary
The Failure Analysis Engineer will be hands-on in a FA lab focused on identifying root causes for IC failures. Electrical characterization (80% of the role) using SMUs, oscilloscopes, and curve tracers to probe wafers and packaged parts, complemented by physical analysis (20%) including mechanical polishing/grinding for cross-sections, wet etching, and decapsulation. Utilize advanced FA techniques such as SEM/EDX, FIB, OBIRCH, PEM, and IR microscopy to correlate electrical findings with physical defects, support wafer-level yield issue analysis, and collaborate with Design, Yield, and Technology Development teams to drive corrective actions. Requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to interpret complex schematics, and the ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications include experience with statistical data interpretation, automation scripting, knowledge of reliability testing standards (AEC-Q100, JEDEC), and familiarity with Allegro product lines.
