Job Summary
This position is responsible for teaching the Science curriculum to students in grades 7-8 and advising a group of Intermediate School students. Key responsibilities include managing a course load of four classes, delivering student-centered lessons using inquiry-based approaches, evaluating student progress, maintaining attendance records, and communicating effectively with parents. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching experience, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities and the ability to inspire student learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- A minimum of two years’ experience teaching science, preferably at the Middle School level.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community.
- Skilled in writing and preparing lesson plans.
- Ability to motivate students and understand their educational and emotional needs.
- Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize different teaching methods that will result in higher student achievement.
