Job Summary
Facilitate theory and clinical learning for students in the William Carey University Nursing program, supervising patient care including medication administration and treatment plans. Evaluate student performance, maintain clinical competence, and utilize technology to enhance instruction while adhering to state and national accreditation standards. Participate in required scholarly activities, assist in program implementation, and serve on university committees. Reflect Christian integrity and values in all interactions with colleagues and students.
Required Qualifications
- Earned master's degree in Nursing or closely related field from an accredited institution
- Current, unencumbered registered nurse license in Mississippi or Louisiana with no pending legal or State Board of Nursing actions
- Evidence of continuing competence in teaching, scholarship, service, and clinical practice
- Must have practicing privileges at all clinical agencies utilized by WCUSON
- Must possess the physical ability to actively facilitate student learning in the classroom and clinical environment for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) including having the strength and agility to assist with patient transfers in the clinical setting
- Must possess the physical ability to function in the role of a registered nurse in the clinical setting
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting (sit or stand for extended period of time, up to 4 hours), and to use standard office equipment including a phone, and a computer
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to effectively communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time up to four hours
- Must be able to work required hours in an on-campus setting
Desired Qualifications
- Academic preparation – Doctorate in Nursing
- Teaching experience – University-level nursing education experience
