Job Summary

The Faculty Clinical Pathologist will provide clinical pathology services focused on Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Laboratory Immunology, ensuring compliance with established protocols. Responsibilities include participating in analyzer validation, timely patient care interactions, collaborating with clinicians, providing educational programs for staff, and supporting clinical research initiatives. The successful candidate should possess strong clinical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families while maintaining multiple priorities. Board certification in Clinical Pathology and licensure in Tennessee are required, with additional training in transfusion medicine preferred. Candidates must maintain active privileges at SJCRH.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology
  • Unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Tennessee
  • Maintain active unrestricted privileges at SJCRH

Desired Qualifications

  • Additional training in transfusion medicine
  • Experience in clinical laboratory immunology
