Job Summary
Instruct lab and clinical nursing students, reinforcing didactic content through the application of knowledge and skills for pre-licensure preparation. Collaborate with faculty to evaluate and document student progress, while grading written and clinical performance check-offs. Maintain communication with program leadership, attend select faculty meetings, and stay current on nursing practice trends to ensure accreditation compliance. Travel to student clinical sites to directly observe performance and uphold the university's doctrinal and ethical principles.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Unencumbered FL RN license
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience in medical/surgical, long term care, and/or skilled nursing
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Evidence of involvement in one's professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications)
- Must successfully pass a drug test
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors
- Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
- Requires travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance
Desired Qualifications
