Job Summary
Design, build, and operate pressurized cryogenic/pneumatic/hydraulic systems to support rocket testing, while developing advanced data control systems for real-time monitoring. Provide expert guidance to engineers on testing best practices and operational limitations, proactively identifying hazards to ensure a safe environment. Create and refine test plans to drive consistent outcomes and troubleshoot reliability issues to improve hardware performance. This second-shift role runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. PT, with a 50-hour workweek including guaranteed overtime and a 10% shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of relevant technical experience
- Experience working with pressurized flight components
- Operating hazardous equipment with multiple sources of energy
- Building Complex Fluid-Mechanical Systems
- Proficiency with Basic Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Slack)
- Second-shift availability (Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. PT)
- Ability to work a 50-hour workweek including 10 guaranteed overtime hours each week
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Trade Certifications in pertinent disciplines: e.g., Aviation/Automotive Mechanic
- In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation, data acquisition, and control systems
- Knowledge of rocket engine components such as pumps, valves, regulators, check valves, as well as electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic valves, actuators, and other fluid system components
