Factory Quality Engineer II ** SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE **

Job Summary

Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, and AS9100 Quality Management System requirements. Develop actionable metrics, including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations, and Corrective Action Boards. Ensure identification, control, and disposition of non-conforming material through Material Review Board participation. Support work instruction development, auditing processes, and configuration management while managing interfaces with the Defense Contract Management Agency. Maintain inspection instructions and release First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102. Participate in weekly meetings to reduce poor quality costs and facilitate timely red rack dispositions. Requires onsite presence in Tucson, AZ, with a security clearance and Bachelor's degree in STEM.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and/or consumable materials control
  • Assembly, Inspection and/or Test manufacturing process experience
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
  • Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
  • Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • ASQ Certifications
