Job Summary
Lead and develop a large production team, including managers, supervisors, and operatives while taking ownership of daily, weekly, and long-term production performance. Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, hygiene, and operational excellence by ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety, quality, and legislative requirements. Develop and implement production strategies aligned to business objectives, manage labour, productivity, yield, and operational cost performance, and analyse operational data and KPI trends to identify improvement opportunities. Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the factory, build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and HR, and support succession planning and leadership development. Deliver operational budgets and contribute to long-term business planning within a fast-paced, high-volume chilled food manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience within a large-scale food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Strong track record of leading sizeable production teams through managers and supervisors
- Experience driving operational improvements, productivity gains and cost reduction programmes
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality, hygiene and health & safety standards
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to build high-performing teams and create a positive, accountable culture
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
