Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Master's degree in psychology, social services, or behavioral health field
• •Completion of supervised clinical field practicum during graduate program or two (2) years' experience working in behavioral health field prior to graduate degree
• •Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration
• •Meeting and maintaining the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05.020
• •Being at least 21 years old
• •Having been licensed for a minimum of three years
• •Successfully completing a motor vehicle history check
• •Possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington
• •Having reliable, insured transportation
• •Ability to obtain or currently possess a Washington State associate or independent clinical license (LICSW-A, LMHC-A, LMFT-A, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)
• •Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner's credential
• •Kitsap Transit Driving Permissions for Kitsap Transit van (requires annual background check through Kitsap Transit and on-site, hands-on driving training)
• •Maintain a working knowledge of all KMHS facilities and clients resources, as well as community resources
• •Maintain a working knowledge of FACT treatment standards for psychiatric rehabilitation
• •Maintain a working knowledge of care coordination best practices
• •Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public
• •Communicates clearly and concisely with diverse communities and populations
• •Ability to operate a personal computer, tablet, phone, fax machine, printer, and copier proficiently
• •Demonstrate ability to meet productivity standards
• •Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member
• •Demonstrate ability to take direction from supervisor in fluid clinical scenarios to meet client needs, in coordination with other team members
• •Demonstrate ability to work in a continually changing environment and with evolving client needs
• •Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• •Ascend and descend stairs and navigate indoor and outdoor environments safely
• •Lift, carry, push, and pull: Up to 10 pounds (frequently)
• •Lift, carry, push, and pull: Up to 20 pounds (occasionally)
• •Lift, carry, push, and pull: Up to 50 pounds (seldom)
• •Safely participate in crisis intervention, including implementation of approved de-escalation techniques, in accordance with training and organizational policy
• •Move quickly and respond to emergencies, including rapid repositioning or short-distance movement to maintain safety and physically evade attempts at assault
• •Use hands and arms for reaching, handling, and manipulation, including reaching above shoulder level
• •Have visual acuity sufficient to read written materials and observe surroundings. Peripheral vision to monitor clients and the environment
• •Have hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and detect environmental and behavioral cues
• •Meet and maintain physical requirements demonstrated through agency-mandated training, including demonstration of ability to: maintain balance, twist torso, forward bend, pivot, sidestep, forward and backward step, crouch, move to secure limb, knee touch to ground, kneel, get up from floor sitting or kneeling position

Desired Qualifications

• •Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
• •Experience providing comprehensive therapeutic intervention to clients in a community mental health or social services setting
