Job Summary
Operate the ice resurfacer to maintain optimal ice surfaces for events, including resurfacing on schedule, setting up and tearing down event spaces, and performing skate sharpening. Conduct daily custodial duties cleaning common areas, restrooms, and grounds while enforcing arena rules and providing customer service. Monitor equipment, keep accurate records, and report issues to the Maintenance Supervisor. Requires a valid Minnesota driver's license and ability to work independently. Hours vary between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. weekdays and any time on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Skills in operating custodial maintenance equipment
- Ability to operate an ice resurfacer
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, facility users, and general public
- Ability to read and record readings on gauges on facility equipment
- An understanding of mechanical equipment
- Experience working with the public
- Experience working at an ice arena
- Experience running an ice resurfacer
