Facility Technician

Job Summary
Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on facility equipment, including operating the wastewater treatment plant, HVAC chillers, cooling towers, and boilers. Troubleshoot and repair pumps, piping, and electrical systems up to 480 volts, while fabricating metal projects and interpreting wiring diagrams. Collaborate with production teams to maximize machine availability and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, ladder work, and lifting up to 50 pounds while adhering to strict safety protocols like LOTO and hardhat requirements. Work independently or in teams to ensure facility uptime at Saturn Petcare's new pet foods manufacturing facility.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma
- Associate degree
- Experience in maintenance role
- Trade experience
- Working knowledge of SAP
- MS Office experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to read and interpret wiring and mechanical Diagrams
- Ability to layout and fabricate metal projects
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of technical procedures and manuals
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
