Facility Technician

Job Summary
Facility Technician responsible for supporting facility maintenance and troubleshooting of Site Facility’s buildings, systems, and grounds, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems and components and general maintenance in a nuclear research and testing facility. Performs electrical, plumbing, and HVAC inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and general upkeep; generates and closes site work orders and compliance calendar items; supports shipping & receiving with crate fabrication and packing for shipment; operates heavy machinery (overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, boom lifts); performs retrofits to existing site equipment and systems; supports tool and test engineers during tooling fabrication, assembly, functional and testing; interfaces with internal and external contractors and facility maintenance vendors; assists with procurement and pickup of components; adept knowledge of facility systems; applies troubleshooting techniques; requires weekend and night availability and unrestricted work authorization; 5+ years of fabrication/manufacturing or mechanical inspections preferred; must understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, PTO, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be available to work weekends and nights as required in support of critical project milestones
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Forklift, crane, and basic rigging Operation experience
- Must be able to understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Preferred Qualifications/Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical/Dimensional inspections
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift loads up to 50 lbs
