Job Summary
Facility Support Assistant provides support to Certified Nurse Assistants and facility staff. Responsibilities include performing resident rounds at shift start and every two hours, applying resident identification bands, making beds, serving water and meals, ensuring nourishment is accessible, assisting with bedside activities and connecting residents with communication tools, ensuring nurse call system is in place, answering call lights, organizing rooms, and participating in in-service training and meetings as directed by supervisory staff; role emphasizes professional image, consumer service, and protection of resident rights.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to deal tactfully and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
- Willingness to handle residents based on their current maturity level
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile residents
