Job Summary
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will plan, implement, and maintain industrial and physical security programs to support facility clearance requirements, overseeing personnel security processes, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and supporting the organization’s security posture through policy development, audits, and program administration. Responsibilities include managing facility security clearances and visit requests, reporting in government systems (DISS, NBIS, SWFT, NISS, e-FCL, SPOT), preparing for and supporting security audits (DCSA reviews), enforcing security policies (ITAR, CUI, insider threat), and providing training. Domestic travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 3 Years of Facility Security Officer (FSO) or 5 Years of Assistant FSO experience
- Must obtain and maintain an active security clearance
- Knowledge of industrial security practices and government contracting requirements (e.g., NAVSEA SI 009-72)
- Ability to manage sensitive information and ensure regulatory compliance
- Strong MS Office skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Security clearance processing systems understanding
- Experience in an industrial or government contracting environment preferred
