Job Summary
Manage the Bus Shelter Program Plan for the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, overseeing installation, maintenance, replacement, and removal of bus shelters and related infrastructure. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and external agencies to execute procurements, negotiate agreements, and ensure projects complete on schedule and within budget. Maintain asset databases, conduct annual field verifications, and develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and financial forecasts supporting capital planning. Perform site inspections under varying weather conditions and prepare reports for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, construction management or related field
- Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Completion of Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) 10-hour general industry course within six months of hire
- Thorough knowledge with managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Thorough knowledge of research methodology
- Skill in the use of personal computers, associated software packages, hardware, and peripheral equipment
- Skill in budget planning
- Skill in analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, organization, and time-management
- Ability to work with minimal guidance
- Ability to manage scope of work, schedule, and budget
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
- Ability to write clear, concise reports, presentations, and other documentations
- Ability to use a variety of computer programs
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to research solutions and apply to current problems on at hand
- Ability to present options for solutions
- Ability to negotiate agreements/contracts
- Ability to develop and manage project procurements, and cost estimates
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, contractors, elected officials, executive management, legal representatives, other departments, outside agencies, team members, vendors, and the general public
