Job Summary
Plan and coordinate installations and refurbishments for plumbing, HVAC, and electricity systems while managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards. Inspect building structures for repairs, review utilities consumption to minimize costs, and supervise staff and contractors to exceed work expectations. Manage staff accommodation, the organization's fleet, parking allocation, waste disposal, and building security, ensuring facility insurance remains current. Forecast upcoming facility needs, develop maintenance worksheets, and create weekly through annual reports. Collaborate with the Operations and Facility Manager to ensure compliance with Federal Government statutory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- BSc. in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field
- At least 2 years' experience as a Facility Officer
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of basic accounting, risk management, finance principles and familiar with cost-comparative analysis
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for security, public health and safety
- Good reporting skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organisational and leadership skills
- Good analytical/critical thinking skills and strong negotiation skills
- Good problem-solving skills, high accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to carry out basic First Aid treatment
- Must demonstrate confidentiality and sound judgement, must be proactive, honest and have integrity
- Ability to work with team members to achieve goals
- Must be willing to work long hours, be responsive and work under pressure
- Must have ability to navigate stressful situations
Desired Qualifications
- Professional, HSE certification is an advantage
