Job Summary
Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks including fixing floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, painting installations, cleaning drop ceilings, protective tarping of equipment, replacing lighting, clearing drains, and performing basic troubleshooting. Assist in executing the preventive maintenance schedule by inspecting equipment like main doors, rolling doors, docks, emergency lights, firefighting systems, and ventilation systems, while monitoring building infrastructure for wear and reporting findings. Provide hands-on assistance in maintaining HVAC units by changing air filters and support permit inspections by preparing areas for review and documenting findings to ensure compliance with regulations. Maintain records of completed maintenance activities and inspections, with some duties varying slightly by location.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Ability to safely operate basic maintenance tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems
- Basic understanding of construction
- Basic understanding of fire suppression systems
- Basic understanding of electrical systems
- Skill in performing minor repairs and maintenance
- Ability to read basic diagrams and schematics
- Ability to use CMMS system
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training in maintenance, HVAC, or a related field
- 1-3 years in facility maintenance or a related field
- 1-3 years familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks
- High proficiency in safely operating basic maintenance tools and equipment
- Medium proficiency in basic understanding of HVAC systems, construction, fire suppression systems and electrical systems
- Medium proficiency in skill in performing minor repairs and maintenance
- Low proficiency in Familiarity with Microsoft Office for documentation
- Low proficiency in Ability to read basic diagrams and schematics
- Low proficiency in Ability to use CMMS system
