Job Summary
Manage and optimize advanced laboratory operations by coordinating schedules, resources, and equipment maintenance to ensure seamless functioning. Oversee inventory management for lab supplies and reagents, while developing facility management strategies aligned with China HQ operation strategy and procedures. Collaborate with the China HQ team to establish procurement systems and manage budgets for equipment, maintenance, and utility costs. Coordinate with utility vendors to establish service contracts and monitor consumption, and enforce safety protocols regarding biosafety, hazardous materials, and waste management. Train laboratory personnel on safe equipment operation and emergency response procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics)
- At least 10 years of experience in facility management, specifically within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on laboratory operations, safety, and utility management
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment and lab waste disposal
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in laboratory safety, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines
- Ability to allocate resources effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, utility providers, and regulatory authorities
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Ability and willingness to communicate and interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams in both China and the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Mandarin is preferred
