Job Summary
Facility Manager to oversee operations, maintenance, and administration of facilities in Damaturu. Responsibilities include directing facility operations, implementing preventive/corrective maintenance, ensuring building services (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) operate efficiently, supervising contractors, ensuring health, safety, and regulatory compliance, managing budgets and asset inventory, and developing lifecycle plans. Requires a Bachelor's degree or HND in a related field, 5+ years of facilities-management experience, strong leadership and vendor-management skills, and proficiency with facility-management software and MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Estate Management, Facility Management, Building Technology, or related discipline
- Relevant professional certifications in Facility Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or Project Management (added advantage)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar facility management role
- Proven experience managing commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial facilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance teams, contractors, and facility budgets
- Experience working in remote or challenging operational environments (advantage)
- Strong knowledge of facility management principles and building systems
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective vendor and contractor management skills
- Good financial and budget management capabilities
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and facility management software
- Good professional appearance and attitude
- Diplomatic, tactful, discreet, flexible, resourceful and dependable
- Excellent leadership and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Outstanding organizational skills
