Facility Maintenance Manager - Ontario Sports Empire

Job Summary
Manage part-time staff, interns, and volunteers while coordinating contractors and overseeing facility operations for Ontario Sports Empire. Lead daily rounds to ensure OSHA and ADA compliance, maintain hazardous materials programs, and oversee inventory, supply orders, and stock control. Direct maintenance of HVAC, kitchen equipment, sporting gear, and grounds, including turf care, walkway monitoring, and annual court maintenance plans. Coordinate venue changeovers, manage utilities, and supervise inspections for fire, sprinkler, and elevator systems. Operate machinery, clean parking lots, and liaise with the City of Gardendale to support events. Open and close the facility daily, track incidents, and execute special projects within budget constraints.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of related experience
- Must have advance working knowledge of commercial facilities including HVAC, electrical, suppression systems, and kitchen equipment
- Must have experience working with sports facilities and associated grounds and equipment
- Advanced working knowledge of maintenance, janitorial, and landscaping standards
- Prior responsibility in managing a daily P&L, management and budget oversight
- Associates degree or related degree/certificate to the position
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
- Must be a team player with a positive can-do attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent management and scheduling abilities for outside vendors & contractors
- Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, A/V, etc.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications within a specific period
- Ability to understand, learn, and utilize various computer-based systems
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
- Pushing/pulling/lifting 50 pounds waist high
- Ability to navigate around the facility for long periods of time
- Ability to climb elevated areas to complete tasks (electric lift, catwalk, ladders, etc.)
- Limited travel may be required
