Job Summary
Operate CNC and manual mills and lathes to fabricate wind tunnel components and models to precise specifications and tolerances. Gain hands-on training and demonstrate proficiency in both manual and CNC machining processes. Maintain eligibility for a US Department of Defense security clearance. Work flexible or extended hours on an as needed basis. This role supports high-speed wind tunnel testing within the CUBRC Aerosciences Group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance
- Position may require standing, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
- Willing to work flexible or extended hours on an as needed basis
Desired Qualifications
- Machining AOS degree
- Shorter Machining Certification
- CAD experience
- inspection experience
- machining experience
- Strong communication skills
- organizational skills
- Ability to follow directions and fully complete all assigned tasks
