Job Summary
Directs and oversees the operational functions of a Distribution facility with a focus on quality, productivity, safety, loss prevention and employee relations. Develops and maintains operations plans and standards, evaluates current systems and procedures, and implements changes to meet goals. Manages shipping/receiving, picking/packing, inventory and value-added services (VAS); responsible for the facility P&L and controlling operational expenses. Trains and supervises 5+ employees directly and 200+ associates indirectly; ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations; collaborates with port management to facilitate drayage services; drives lean improvements and KPI performance across ecommerce and omni-channel fulfillment. Requires a Bachelor's Degree with 7-15 years in transportation and warehousing, plus experience in contract negotiations, KPIs, and WMS/TMS/YMS systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree including 7 to 15 years’ experience in fast paced transportation and warehousing environment with increasing responsibilities
- Demonstrated expertise in managing transportation and warehousing operations
- Experience in a 3PL environment supporting multiple customers or lines of business
- Experience in transportation management, pick-up and delivery, dray, etc.
- Experience supporting negotiations for new or increased customer contracts
- Experience implementing and managing key performance indicators throughout operations and holding management and employees accountable for performance metrics
- Solid financial, analytical and P&L experience
- Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models
- Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems (WMS/TMS/YMS)
- Experience creating a high-trust, high-performance, team culture
