Job Summary
Provide patient care for assigned patients while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating with other departments. Utilize the nursing process to uphold patient rights and confidentiality within established guidelines and the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model. Obtain and maintain a current RN license and BLS certification as required. Perform duties involving pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking. Work days from 0700 to 1930, 12 hours per week, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferred
- Six months of this experience should be within the last year
