Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse or Registered Professional Nurse using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care across departments and safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality. Obtain and maintain a current Missouri LPN license, ensuring all state board requirements are met. This full-time, 36-hour/week position includes 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau. Candidates must hold a high school diploma, an accredited practical nursing program degree, at least one year of acute care experience, and valid Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current Missouri LPN license and must meet all MO State Board of Nursing requirements
- Must have a minimum of 1 year nursing experience in acute care
- Six months of this experience should be within the last year
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Full-Time - 36 hours/week
- 12 Hour Nights (7:00pm - 7:30am)
