Job Summary
Facility Cook needed to work every Saturday at Highland Oaks skilled nursing facility from 5:30a-7:30p, with additional hours during the week when other cooks are unavailable. Prepare meals with quality, taste and nutrition following standardized recipes; manage modified diets (mechanical soft, pureed, thickened liquids) and adjust consistency as needed. Must be able to accept direction, cook, bake, and follow recipes. Requires English literacy, one year of public cooking experience, and a current Food Managers certification. Must maintain neat appearance and physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Server hours may be available at a lesser pay rate. Location: Elgin, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must be able to work independently and follow routine procedures and recipes
- Must have at least one year of public cooking experience
- Must possess Food Managers certification and keep it up-to-date
- Must have neat appearance and clean personal hygiene
- Must possess physical stamina required for standing at least three hours continuously 100% of the time, walking, stooping, lifting at least 50 lbs. and carrying heavy supplies, pots and pans
- Able to work around heat most of the day
