Facility Based Crisis Behavior Technician

Job Summary

Provide direct patient care and supervision to individuals with psychiatric or co-occurring disorders in facility-based, crisis, or residential treatment settings. Monitor behavior, mood, and safety while assisting with activities of daily living, de-escalating crises, and responding to medical emergencies. Facilitate skills groups, recreational activities, and therapeutic sessions to support treatment goals and promote autonomy. Document observations and interventions in the electronic health record and communicate with the interdisciplinary team during shift reports and meetings. Maintain a safe environment by implementing trauma-informed interventions and adhering to infection control and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Auto insurance
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proficiency in CPR
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
  • Ability to pull a minimum of 20 lbs
  • Ability to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop
  • Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting
  • Complete criminal background check
  • Name check in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification
  • Other credentialing based on position requirements
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals
