Job Summary
Hands-on Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician responsible for a wide range of maintenance, repair, and operational duties to support facility equipment, buildings, and grounds. Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues and complete repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, trailers, and shop machinery; service small equipment like golf carts and power tools. Maintain exterior grounds including snow removal, lawn care, weed control, and seasonal tasks (gutter cleaning, grading, pothole repair). Conduct regular safety inspections of extinguishers, emergency lighting, and facilities; ensure safety compliance and report concerns. Coordinate with vendors/contractors for specialized repairs, maintain maintenance records, and support multiple departments to ensure smooth daily operations. Limited business travel may be required for larger equipment removals. Full-time, Monday–Thursday schedule with 40 hours/week; overtime, weekends or evenings may be required during winter. Physical environment includes exposure to fumes/particulates; role involves outdoor work and shop setting with lifting up to 50 lbs. This position operates independently within a maintenance team and may involve some contractor management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Experience operating a forklift
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, mechanical, and/or metal work
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, skid loaders
