Facility and Construction Planner

Job Summary

Develop and manage facility maintenance, renovation, and construction project plans, schedules, and priorities. Evaluate facility needs to recommend solutions improving operational efficiency, safety, and space utilization. Manage relationships with contractors and consultants, overseeing scope development, vendor selection, and performance monitoring. Monitor project budgets, review expenditures, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, GMP, and regulatory requirements. Lead cross-functional meetings to communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders. Investigate facility issues and determine corrective actions to minimize operational disruption. Coordinate and oversee improvement initiatives from planning through execution and closeout.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Industrial Technology, a related technical discipline, or completion of an accredited trade school program
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in facilities management, construction planning, project management, maintenance operations, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external vendors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving facility-related challenges
  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with applicable safety regulations, building codes, environmental requirements, and GMP standards
  • Ability to work in office, manufacturing, construction, and facility environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate indoor and outdoor work areas, including uneven or slippery surfaces
  • Frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and perform repetitive hand movements during daily activities
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and other equipment as required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with appropriate assistance or equipment when necessary
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect facilities, equipment, and construction work and to read technical drawings, specifications, and written materials
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), facility management software, or project management tools preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project or equivalent project planning software
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation preferred
