Job Summary
Perform routine building maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs. Conduct site-wide maintenance such as painting, patching walls, and replacing flooring. Inspect and repair assigned interior and exterior areas, including roofing and lighting systems. Aid janitorial staff with furniture moving, equipment disposal, and special event setup. Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as needed. Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX's custom system. Adhere to proper safety guidelines at all times. This temporary position in Brownsville, TX, lasts 3 months with potential conversion based on performance. Requires standing up to 10 hours daily and working all shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience
- Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday as needed
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Stand: Up to 10 hours per day
- Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
- Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
- Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
- Walk: Up to 6 hours per day
- Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
- Climb (ladder/stairs): up to 3 hours per day
- Kneel/Crouch: up to 1 hour per day
- Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
- Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees: up to 3 hours per day
- Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvements
- Experience with plumbing systems, backflows, lift stations, sewer machines, and pumps
- Experience with concrete, forming, and pouring
- Experience with engineering and construction principles, methods, and codes
- Experience with industrial compressed air systems and maintenance
- Experience with carpentry maintenance tasks, including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet/countertop replacement, painting/texturing (interior and exterior), and door/hardware installation
- Ability to read instructions and blueprints
- Experience with project management software, MS Excel, Word, or other project tracking software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - MS Outlook and Teams
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Self-motivated, works well with others and autonomously
- Safety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, and fall protection equipment
