Job Summary
Facilities Technician responsible for maintaining facility equipment, performing repairs to restore safe operating conditions, taking data readings and maintaining logs to meet local, state, and federal requirements, troubleshooting process operations to maintain optimal performance, using handheld instruments (voltage meter, LEL meter, gas detection meter, pH meter), ensuring production schedules are not jeopardized by equipment failures, following LOTO procedures, completing work orders for preventive/predictive maintenance, maintaining organized work areas per 5-S and safety/environmental rules, completing electrical and mechanical repairs as directed, participating as an on-site emergency response team, and complying with PSM, RMP, and permit requirements; requires the ability to work in a 2-shift (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) environment with a 2-on/2-off/3-on rotation and to be team-oriented with high attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience within a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment working in the facilities group
- Licensed operator of a WWT system (SC Phys chem)
- Knowledge of mechanical chillers, cooling towers, emission scrubbers, boilers, industrial air compressors, water treatment system, HVAC systems etc.
- Associate degree or certificate from technical trade school or higher
- Military experience in a mechanical role
