Job Summary
Facilities Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating facilities infrastructure including HVAC, ammonia refrigeration systems, water heaters, compressors, wastewater, and related electrical and control systems to support manufacturing operations. Perform daily rounds, troubleshoot and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, support PSM/RMP compliance, respond to alarms, and ensure environmental and safety compliance. Maintain and operate HVAC and utility systems, water chemistry testing, and chemical dosing for wastewater, and execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Leads and guides others in the department, participates in rotating on-call duties for after-hours facilities emergencies, and handles plant security and key control. Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting low voltage controls, three-phase electrical systems, and PLC-controlled systems; experience with CO2 and nitrogen systems; ability to read schematics and use CMMS; capable of working in harsh environments and supporting manufacturing production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, or facilities
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems (480VAC–24VDC)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Experience using a CMMS (SAP, RedZone, or similar)
- Ability to work in extreme environments (cold storage, boiler rooms)
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (preferred)
- Experience with CO2 and nitrogen systems (preferred)
- Background in wastewater treatment operations (preferred)
